Denton Garden & Nature Education Center
At Evers Farm Park
We are petitioning the City of Denton to utilize part of the newly acquired Evers property and house on N. Elm St. as a community garden and garden education center.
The property was purchased by JPI, a developer planning to build townhomes. Due to the city's tree ordinance, JPI is donating a large portion of the property to Denton Parks and Recreation, which includes the house, a barn, an old windmill, and a water tower.
There is discussion about tearing everything down, but we would like to see the property's structures repurposed as a community garden and education center.
This community garden would have the idyllic backdrop of a farmhouse, windmill, water tower, and barn and serve as a vibrant and functional part of Denton’s future.
